A Delaware State Trooper was injured after being dragged by a vehicle in Mill Creek on Monday afternoon, 2/25. It happened around 2 p.m. near Kirkwood Highway and Ferrand Drive. The trooper was directing traffic because of malfunctioning traffic lights. For an unknown reason, the trooper talked to a driver of an SUV that was stopped. The vehicle suddenly took off, dragging the trooper with it for approximately a tenth of a mile. The trooper was taken Christiana Hospital in stable condition. He is expected to be OK. The dark colored SUV fled down Farrand Drive and into the Kirkwood Gardens neighborhood. Anyone with information should contact Troop 6 at (302) 633-5000.

Strong winds have caused damage and destruction throughout the area overnight and during the day on Monday, 2/25. The forecast included a High Wind Alert with sustained wings of 40 mph and gusts of up to 60 mph. In Delaware County, several residents were displaced from their homes after large trees came crashing down on their houses this morning. In Montgomery County, the wind blew off portions of the roof of an HVAC company causing a partial roof collapse. Sila Heating & Air Conditioning is located on the 200 block of Hansen Access Road in Upper Merion. 65 employees were evacuated without injuries. In Philadelphia, the wind is to blame for a partial collapse of a garage and vacant building. It happened near Fifth and Master Streets in Kensington. No one was injured, but bricks fell on a BMW parked next to it. L+I may issue violations because the property was not properly kept up. The winds are expected to die down this evening and overnight.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects after a man was shot in the neck in front of his family on Sunday evening, 2/24. It happened just before 8 p.m. near 12th and South Street. The 25-year-old father was getting out of his vehicle when he was approached by two men who demanded he 'Give it up!'. He was then shot in the neck while his wife and 1-year-old son were inside the car. They ran to a nearby store and called 911. The man was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition. He is now in stable condition. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
