Philadelphia Police are searching for a 'serial attacker' wanted for at least nine sexual assaults in South Philly since the end of December. The latest attacks happened on Thursday night, 2/21, and early Friday morning, 2/22. The pattern of assaults started on December 20th. The male suspect is targeting women late at night. Sometimes he uses a knife to threaten them and sometimes he robs them. The black male with a beard is also riding a bike. He approaches women on the street, many of them as they are going into a building. Police have released an image of the suspect caught on surveillance footage. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.

UPDATE: Monday 2/25 - Philadelphia Police are questioning a person-of-interest in the South Philadelphia assaults.

An SUV crashed into a concrete barrier on the Fayette Street Bridge in Conshohocken just before midnight on Friday, 2/22. The driver had hit two other vehicles and lost control before slamming into the divider between the roadway and pedestrian walkway. Both the driver and a female passenger fled the scene on foot. The woman then jumped into the Schuylkill River. A Pennsylvania State Trooper was injured while helping her out of the water. They were both caught and arrested. The trooper was taken to the hospital for observation. (The woman didn't jump off the bridge, but rather fled off the bridge on foot, down the stairs, and jumped in at ground level.)

A Montgomery County man completed entering a guilty plea in the murder and rape of his girlfriend's 14-year-old daughter on Friday, 2/22. It took three separate court appearances this week in front of Bucks County Judge Diane Gibbons for 46-year-old Jacob Sullivan to 'plea knowingly, willingly and intelligently' to raping and killing Grace Packer. Sullivan had to be rushed to the hospital on both Tuesday and Thursday with an extremely high blood pressure of around 220/140. A nurse was present in the courtroom on Friday. He faced 18 charges including first-degree murder, rape of a child, kidnapping, and abuse of corpse. A jury will be selected over the next week or two for the penalty phase. They will have to determine whether Sullivan receives the death penalty or life in prison. The victim's adoptive mother, Sara Parker, cooperated with authorities and made a plea deal to avoid the death penalty herself. She may be called as a witness.
