Former Radnor Township Commissioner Phillip Ahr pled guilty today, 2/5, to child pornography charges. 66-year-old Ahr was arrested on federal charges on October 2017. He then resigned as president of the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners. He is accused of downloading, possessing, and distributing material. His chat logs with other individuals date back to 2013. The images and videos mostly depict girls under the age of 10. There were also other disturbing images and video. Ahr is scheduled to be sentenced on May 23. He faces a minimum 5-year sentence.

A 16-month-old baby boy had to be given Narcan after he ingested illegal drugs found at his parent's Upper Darby home on Monday, 2/4. Around 5:30 p.m., the father came home to find the mother passed out on the bed. The child started to have trouble breathing and lost consciousness. The father took the child to Delaware County Memorial Hospital where medical staff administered Narcan, the opioid overdose reversal drug. They were then transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is in guarded condition. The mother was also treated for an overdose. Police believe that the child found and chewed on discarded heroin baggies in the house. The mother and father both admit to being heroin users. Investigators found 12 empty bags in the home at 7701 West Chester Pike. They expect to charge the mother with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment and drug offenses.

A pregnant woman went into premature labor after the vehicle she was in was hit by a DUI driver in Overbrook early Tuesday morning, 2/5. It happened around 2:40 a.m. at the intersection of Haverford and Overbrook Aves. The woman was a passenger in a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a man. They were sitting at a traffic light when they were rear-ended by a 2003 white Lexus. The Lexus flipped over and landed on its roof. Meanwhile, the force of the impact caused the mother to go into labor 16 weeks early. The baby was not due until May, but medics helped start delivering in the cab of the truck. The 42-year-old mother, 36-year-old father, and newborn were rushed to Lankenau Medical Center. The parents are in stable condition. The child is in critical condition. The 56-year-old Lexus driver was arrested for DUI and driving with a suspended license.
