NJ Special Ed Teacher Arrested Sex w/ Student; Indictments Loom on IBEW Local 98; St. Joe's Robbery

A New Jersey high school teacher has been charged with having sex with a student. 30-year-old Alexandra Reiner of Eastampton is charged with second degree sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Reiner is a special education teacher at Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Burlington County. The school district approached the prosecutor's office last week with information concerning a possible inappropriate relationship. The investigation determined that Reiner and the student had sex multiple times in December 2018 in Mount Holly and Lumberton. Any details about the child, including age, are being withheld to protect the victim. She is being held at Atlantic County Jail in Mays Landing.

There are more indictments in the ongoing federal investigation of IBEW Local 98. On Tuesday, 1/29, Dr. James Moylan, the former zoning board chief of Philadelphia, was indicted by a federal grand jury. Moylan, who is friends with and chiropractor for Local 98 business manager John Dougherty, is accused of stealing more than $45,000 from a nonprofit he set up called 'Neighborhoods for Fair Taxes.' That money was paid to the charity from Local 98's charitable fund.

It is expected that federal authorities will announce even more charges and indictments on Wednesday, 1/30. This time they could be against John Dougherty himself, Philadelphia City Councilman Bobby Henon, and other top union officers. It was revealed earlier this year in a Department of Labor financial filing that Johnny Doc had repaid the union $248,000 in legal bills that were "mistakenly paid by the local union" over a 6 year period. Those bills were repaid in July 2018. The FBI first raided Dougherty and Henon's offices and homes in August 2016.

UPDATE: IBEW Local 98's Johnny Doc, Councilman Henon Indicted

Officials at Saint Joseph's University have reported another off-campus armed robbery. This happened on Tuesday, 1/29, around 4 p.m. at 58th and Wyndale Avenue. A female student was walking alone when she was approached by two males. They asked her what she was carrying in her bag and she responded that she had books and a wallet. They told her they were armed and demanded the wallet. The student handed over the wallet and ran away. Other incidents that have happened in January have included cell phone robberies and a carjacking. Saint Joseph's is working with the Philadelphia Police Department to increase patrols.
