Phillies Single Game Tickets Go On Sale

Fans started lining up at Citizens Bank Park early Thursday to make sure they got their hands on tickets to the games they had their eyes on, whether it be a giveaway night, the first night home game, or just one on the schedule that fits their plans. This morning at 8:30 am tickets went on sale at the box office, at phi lies.com and on the phones 215-463-1000.

The team has already sold about 3 million tickets through the full and partial season-ticket plans, plus smaller 6 and 3 game packs. "We still have 680,000 tickets to sell," said John Weber, vice president for sales and ticket operations. "So we still have a lot of inventory to sell."

Despite all of those tickets available to single game buyers right now, the Phillies have been selling out games without a problem. Going into the 2012 season, they will take a 204 home game sell out streak with them.

Tickets can become hard to come by to see the home town team during the season, making Phillies' fans some of the best traveling in the league. The Washington Nationals instituted a policy to presell tickets to the Phillies-Nationals series to only locals to avoid Phillies fans from filling up their stadium.

There is a lot of high hope and expectations for this team yet again, and with pitchers and catchers reporting in only 3 days, the town is ready to be painted red.
