A man in Camden County was arrested and charged with distribution of child pornography on Tuesday, 1/8. Detectives from the High-Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office executed a search warrant at a residence on 3rd Street off of the Black Horse Pike in Runnemede. 46-year-old James Merna was charged with Distribution of Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography. Authorities recovered a laptop and numerous other digital devices that will be analyzed. An on-site preview of Merna's laptop led to these charges. Merna was taken to the Runnemede Police Department where he was processed and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility. Members of Homeland Security Investigations - Cherry Hill Office, the Runnemede Police Department, the Zone 5 Critical Incident Team, and the New Jersey State Police K9 forensic dog assisted the Camden County Prosecutor's Office HTCU Detectives on the case.

The Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of a man killed during a dispute over an unleashed dog a homicide. It happened before 10 p.m. on Saturday, 1/5, at Gold Star Park in South Philadelphia. 38-year-old Drew Justice and his fiance were walking their dog. Another man was also in the park, but had his dog unleashed. The couple asked the man to put his dog on a leash, which are the rules of the park. He instead punched Justice in the face causing him to fall over and hit his head. The man fled. Justice was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later. The medical examiner has ruled that Justice died from blunt force trauma to the head. The investigation is on going. There was one other witness besides the fiance, plus area surveillance. No charges have been filed.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the homeless veteran in the middle of the GoFundMe scandal. Johnny Bobbitt Jr. did not appear for a court hearing on Tuesday, 1/8, so the judge issued a warrant for his arrest. Bobbitt was released on bail in December. He was required to report to the court system once a week, maintain his sobriety, attend regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings, inform the court of his address, and not to have contact with his co-dependents. Bobbitt, along with Kate McClure and Mark D'Amico, are accused of conspiring to create a false feel-good story and then raise $400,000 from unwitting donors on GoFundMe. Their scheme was discovered this past fall when investigators looked into the finances after Bobbitt said the couple swindled him. In fact, they found that the whole thing was a scam and all three were complicit. They all face charges of theft by deception. GoFundMe has refunded all of the donors.

UPDATE: Johnny Bobbitt was arrested on Wednesday, 1/9, in Philadelphia.
