A Philadelphia Police officer was injured Saturday night, 12/15, after being pinned against her patrol car by a suspect driving a stolen rental van. It happened around 7:30 p.m. at Sedgely and Ridge avenues in Strawberry Mansion. The officer and her partner stopped the U-haul truck and were investigating the possibility it was stolen. The suspect backed up, pinning the officer to her patrol car. The suspect then fled on foot. He was apprehended and taken into custody a short time later. The officer was taken to Temple University Hospital. She has non life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition. Police continue to investigate.

Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect wanted for raping a woman at gunpoint in University City early Saturday morning, 12/15. It happened just after 4 a.m. on the 3100 block of Walnut Street. The woman had just left a party and was sitting inside her car parked on the Walnut Street Bridge near World Cafe Live. She was looking for her purse when the man got into the passenger seat and pulled out a gun. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim inside the vehicle. He fled on foot underneath the Walnut Street Bridge. The suspect is described as a black male, 6', 25-year-old, with a goatee. He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants. Philadelphia Police and University of Pennsylvania Police are investigating. They have also increased patrols. Students can use the school's free, 24/7 walking escort service by calling 215-898-9255.

Two women were arrested in New York City on Saturday morning, 12/15, after a 4-month-old baby boy from Delaware was found dead in a hotel. Dominic Greene was discovered unconscious and unresponsive shortly after 1 a.m. at the Hotel Pennsylvania across the street from Madison Square Garden. He was transported to NYU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The boy was with his 24-year-old stepsister and a 26-year-old woman, reportedly her fiance. Neither women are his mother. They were trying to book a room at the hotel when an employee noticed the boy wasn't moving and called 911. There were no obvious signs of trauma. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death. Police say the two women were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
