The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH, announced next year's inductees to the hall. Leading the way was Stevie Nicks who was previously inducted as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and now becomes the first female artist to be inducted twice. This was her first year on the ballot as a solo artist. Other first ballot winners include Roxy Music and Def Leppard. The Zombies were first nominated in 1989 and appeared on four ballots before being chosen for induction this year. Janet Jackson (3rd year), Radiohead (2nd) and The Cure (2nd) round out this year's class.

The other nominees eligible on this year's ballot included: Devo, John Prine, Todd Rundgren, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, MC5, Rage Against the Machine, and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan

Artists are first considered eligible for inclusion 25 years after their first release. Ballots are sent to 900 members of the music industry to vote. The Rock Hall selects the top vote getters with at least 50% of the votes for inclusion, usually 5-7 each year. The public also gets a vote. All of the public votes are tallied to create a ballot alongside the industry votes. The 34th Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 29, 2019.
