The driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident in Kensington on Tuesday night, 10/30, turned herself into police. 34-year-old Jessica Ledee-Davila surrendered around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. She is charged with involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and driving without a license. Ledee-Davila was involved in two accidents last night. It started around around 8:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of Cambria Street. Ledee-Davila was driving an older model Honda and rear ended a Nissan causing minor damage. She exchanged some words with the other driver before taking off. As Ledee-Davila was fleeing that scene, she jumped the curb near Kensington Avenue and Cambria Street. A homeless couple was lying on a mattress on the sidewalk. Ledee-Davila struck and killed 22-year-old Rhiannon Broderick and injured 27-year-old John Guertler. Police recovered the Honda near the 2700 block of Coral Street. Ledee-Davila had fled on foot before turning herself in to police.

A high school principal in Chester County has resigned after being arrested on drug and theft charges. 44-year-old Michael Flick, former principal of Great Valley High School in Malvern, is charged with theft and multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance. Flick admitted to stealing prescription medication from the school nurse's office. Last week, the nurse noticed that 93 pills were missing from six containers belonging to five students. East Whiteland Township police and the Chester County District Attorney's Office were notified and an e-mail was sent to parents. After a brief investigation, Flick "acknowledged his involvement" in the missing medication and apologized to parents. Flick is a married father of three and will be seeking treatment.

A two alarm fire broke out at a Montgomery County car dealership overnight. It happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday, 10/31, at the Carfagno Chevy dealership on the 1200 block of Ridge Pike near Chestnut Street in Plymouth Township. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in the service garages, which were all full with vehicles. They initially had water problems, but were able to stop the damage from spreading to the main show room and completely destroying the service center. "Other issues we had were the amount of vehicles in the service bay. There was explosions we believe, maybe fuel tanks and tires and whatever else on vehicles were taken off and that added to large amount of fire we had," said Plymouth Fire Company Chief Mitch Kijak. Only one firefighter was injured when a civilian car ran over a hose causing it to popup and hit him. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
