Philadelphia Police are searching for woman wanted for running over a man outside of a Dunkin' Donuts store in Northeast Philadelphia last Saturday, 10/6. It happened around 10:30 a.m. outside the store at the Roosevelt Boulevard and Welsh Roads. When the woman left the store she got into an argument with a group of friends who were standing out front. She got into her Dodge Charger and drove straight at the group as they walked away. 29-year-old Vince McCreary was not able to jump out of the way and was plowed over. He suffered serious injuries. Police have located the vehicle and the male owner is not cooperating with police. "We are seeing an escalation in anger and obviously we can't have these people out here weaponized in vehicles and mowing people down," Philadelphia police Lieutenant Dennis Rosenbaum said. The suspect is described as a described as a black female, 35 to 40 years-of-age, 5'7 to 5'9, 200-215 pounds with blonde short crew cut hair. She was wearing pink scrubs with a multi-colored shirt. The incident was caught on surveillance video.

You may have seen Carvana's 9-story car vending machine recently pop-up in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood; it is easily visible from I-95. The web-based car dealership allows customers to purchase a vehicle online and then choose home delivery or pickup at one of their vending machines. Buyers get a large coin to put in the slot which activates the machine. You can then test drive the car for a week and return it. You can try up to 2 other vehicles. The process takes out the middle man and allows customers to skip the car salesman. Carvana's Philadelphia location is now open for business.

The creator of the Fyre Festival, billed as a luxury music festival in the Bahamas. was sentenced on Thursday, 10/11, to six years in prison by a federal judge in Manhattan. 26-year-old Billy McFarland admitted to two counts of wire fraud for defrauding investors of $26 million. He also pled guilty to two counts of bank fraud related to a separate $100,000 ticket scam. That scheme was committed while out on bail on the first charges. The Fyre Festival was promoted as an exclusive, luxury event that would take place in the spring of 2017 on a private island in the Bahamas. Advertisements featured well known models/celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Emily Ratajkowski jumping off boats, running in the sand, etc. plus some stock concert footage. Ticket holders expected to see acts such as Blink 182, Ja Rule, and Migos, but when they started to arrive at the site they found the musical acts had been canceled. Actual accommodations consisted of small tents on a gravel lot and the only food available was cheese sandwiches. Investigators had discovered that McFarland had diverted half of the investor money to his own personal account to fuel a lavish livestyle. Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald said, "Mr. McFarland is a fraudster and not simply a misguided young man." She said the festival was "not a good idea gone bad" and that "bad intent was longstanding." Prosecutors sought 15 years while the defense asked for leniency because he was young and suffered mental illness which clouded his judgement.
