The man accused of killing a model in her Main Line apartment this past summer appeared in court for a preliminary hearing on Friday. 30-year-old Jonathan Harris of Johnstown, PA, is charged with the murder of 36-year-old Christina Kraft in her Ardmore condo on Sibley Ave early in the morning of August 22nd. Officials described what happened that night as a drug deal gone violently bad. Kraft had taken a Lyft to Center City by herself early that morning. She met Harris and the two took a car back to her Ardmore apartment. Harris believed he was going to sell her drugs. According to him, the two took some of the cocaine and had sex. Afterwards, he demanded she pay $1,200 for the drugs and she refused. That's when a fight broke out. She hit him on the head with a glass bottle. He repeatedly punched her and tied her up. Eventually, Harris strangled her with his hands and another object. He jumped from the balcony and left her for dead. District Judge Michael Quinn held Harris on all charges and scheduled an arraignment for Nov. 28.

The City of Philadelphia has agreed to pay $1 million to the family of a man who was shot in the back and killed during a traffic stop last year. The settlement with the family of David Jones was announced on Friday. Officials said that it was not an admission of liability. "The family of David Jones asked the City of Philadelphia to resolve their potential legal claims against the City without the need for a civil lawsuit, which would have caused the family to relive this tragedy and the agony of their loss through a potentially lengthy litigation process. Mr. Jones' family and the City have agreed that this settlement is in the parties' best interests," City Solicitor Marcel Pratt said in a statement. Former Philadelphia Police Officer Ryan Pownall was charged last month with criminal homicide for the shooting. It happened in June 2017. Pownall had pulled Jones over for riding a dirt bike on a city street. He frisked Jones and felt a gun. A struggle ensued and Jones fled. He discarded his weapon in the process. Pownall shot Jones as he ran away.

Three people have died and two others injured after a heads on collision in Salem County, New Jersey, on Friday night, 10/5. It happened before 9 p.m. Friday in the unit block of Hook Road. A 4-door sedan with New Jersey tags crashed into a van with Delaware tags. The tree deceased were riding in the sedan and have been described as a man in his 50s, a woman in her 60s, and a woman in her 30s. Two men in the van were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Two infants in the van were not injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
