One person has died and four others were injured in a drive-by shooting outside a Dollar General store in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, 10/3. It happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Freedom Square Shopping Center on Germantown Avenue near Manheim Street. A white Chevy Impala drove through the parking lot and someone inside open fire on a group of young males standing outside. 18 shots were fired. A 23-year-old man was shot in the left hand, a 19-year-old man was shot in the right hand, another 19-year-old man was shot in the right foot and a 20-year-old man was shot in the right arm. They are all in stable condition at Einstein Medical Center. A fifth victim, a 20-year-old male, was shot in the head. He was taken to Einstein in critical condition and died at the hospital. Police do not believe the shooting was random, otherwise the victims were targeted. Anyone with information should call police at 215-686-TIPS.

One woman is in the hospital and another is under arrest after a road rage stabbing in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday evening, 10/3. It happened around 7 p.m. on the 300 block of Levick Street. An off-duty police officer witnessed the incident. The officer saw one female get out of her vehicle, open the door of another vehicle, and proceed to stab the female driver several times. The officer was able to get the knife away from the suspect, but she got back into her car and drove away. He called in the make and license plates. Police spotted the car a short distance away and gave chase. The suspect ended up crashing into another vehicle near Summerdale Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard. When she exited her car, the suspect had another knife in hand. Police had to use a Taser to subdue and apprehend her. The 33-year-old victim was taken to Einstein Hospital in stable condition. She is expected to be ok.
