Two Philadelphia police officers have been arrested for improperly stopping a man and falsifying reports. It happened around 10:10 a.m. on April 17 on the 100 block of East Sharpnack Street. Officers Matthew Walsh and Marvin Jones stopped a man for apparently using narcotics. They frisked him because he refused to take his hands out of his pockets and released him without charges. The man filed a complaint against the officers. Internal Affairs investigated the complaint. Surveillance video revealed they searched the man and his vehicle without probable cause. They also detained the man in handcuffs for approximately 15 minutes, drove him approximately one block away, and then released him one minute later. They took a prescription bottle from him which was not in the report. The two officers are charged with criminal conspiracy, false imprisonment, tampering with records, obstructing administration of law, and official oppression. They have been suspended for 30-days with the intent to dismiss.

The manhunt for a Bucks County suspect wanted for sexually assaulting two girls has turned its attention to Delaware. Police say that 47-year-old David Hamilton was seen between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, 9/26, in New Castle County, Delaware. He was in the stolen car reported yesterday. That car is identified as a white 2016 Toyota Avalon with PA registration number PD3-759P. Hamilton has been on the run since Friday. He was previously seen in the New Hope area. Yesterday, police arrested Meredith Custodio who was allowing Hamilton to hide in a Southampton home. A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest. Tips can be submitted to the U.S. Marshals by calling 1-866-865-TIPS (8477).

A female bartender was shot and killed on Wednesday night, 9/26, as part of an attempted murder-suicide in West Philadelphia. Patrol officers heard gunshots around 10:15 p.m. at Studio 7 Lounge near 60th and Spruce Street in Cobbs Creek. A man ran from the bar eastbound on Spruce Street. Police discovered the female bartender inside suffering from a gunshot to the head. She was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. They found the 52-year-old man a short distance away suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. Police are still investigating the relationship between the two people and a motive for the shooting. Their names have not been released.
