The lawyer for the New Jersey couple now under investigation for what happened to hundreds of thousands of dollars raised in a GoFundMe campaign for a homeless man says that one or both of his clients is likely to be indicted. Ernest Badway represents Mark D'Amico and Katelyn McClure in a civil case against Johnny Bobbitt. Badway wrote a letter last Thursday, 9/6, to Superior Court Judge Paula Dow asking her to delay the civil case. Dow granted the stay today, 9/10, and postponed the civil case unil December. In that letter, now available, Badway wrote, "(Since) it is expected that one or both of the defendants will likely be indicted, my firm and I will no longer be able to continue our representation of them in this matter." The letter was written the same day last week that Burlington County authorities executed a search warrant on the couple's home. Prosecutor Scott Coffina confirmed that the search was part of a criminal investigation. No charges have been filed. It is not clear if Badway would represent the couple in a criminal trial.

Authorities in Delaware County announced a new program and are asking Delco residents to sign up to make the county safer. The district attorney's office announced a new surveillance camera registration program called the DA DelCam program. Residents and business owners throughout the county who have surveillance systems can register in the program. When police are trying to solve a crime, locate a missing child, or find an elderly person an important tool can be video surveillance. Using the DA DelCam system, police can search and find which businesses or residences have cameras in a certain area. (But only if they've signed up.) The police can then go ask the camera's owner for permission to view the footage. Police may find the exact footage needed to solve the crime or rescue someone in danger. Don't worry, they don't have access to your cameras through the system, just that the location has a camera, and only if you register. Previously to find surveillance systems, police would canvas the neighborhood and look at buildings to see if there were any obvious cameras. You can find more information and register at DA DelCam program.

Police have arrested 5 suspects wanted in connection to two armed robberies and an attempted kidnapping at a Norristown car dealership. The crimes happened at El Camino Motors on Main Street between April and August. The suspects are 30-year-old Charlie Franco, 35-year-old Eric Santana, 32-year-old Damon Murphy, 32, and 31-year-old Theophilus Berry, all of Philadelphia, and 27-year-old Michael Dukes, of Norristown. They are still searching for 29-year-old Calvin Berkins and 28-year-old Rebecca Roman. The group is part of a criminal organization. They robbed El Camino Motors at gun point on April 30th and July 18th. They made off with $1000s and 100 vehicle titles.
