Police in Trenton are now investigating a mass shooting that took place at a 24 hour arts festival early Sunday morning. The shooting took place at around 2:45 am at the Roebling Wire Works Building on the 600 block of South Clinton Avenue. 22 people were injured in the shooting, including a 13-year-old boy. Police say there was an estimate of 1,000 people attending the annual festival. Authorities stated that multiple suspects opened fire at the festival. Witnesses say that the shooting broke out in front of a community mural made by the non-partisan Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America. The mural reads "Imagine a world free of gun violence. What do you see?"

A 33-year-old man, who is believed to be one of the suspects, was shot and killed during the shooting. Police are now searching for a second suspected shooter and any others that could have been involved. Off-duty police officers and security guards inside of the venue returned fire, which police say is also a part of the ongoing investigation. Police recovered multiple weapons from the scene. Seventeen of the victims were injured by gunfire; five others were injured by other means. Four suspects remain in critical condition, including the 13-year-old boy who remains in extremely critical condition.
