Cosby Clothes w/ Slogans Ban Proposal; Two Officers Injured In Crash; State Rep. Not To Re-Run

Bill Cosby's lawyers are now asking the judge to ban certain clothes and accessories with slogans from his upcoming retrial. Lawyers say that at his last trial, accusers wore t-shirts and buttons that had slogans such as "We stand in truth." Some women also carried flowers to express solidarity with the accusers. Cosby's lawyers argue that the shirts and other items could influence the jurors. The jurors for Cosby's trial are set to be picked on April 2nd.

Two police officers were taken to the hospital after a crash occurred on Interstate 95 on Wednesday. The crash happened during the early snowfall on Wednesday morning near the Washington Avenue exit on I-95. Police say the officers were in a vehicle that spun out and slammed into a guardrail. There is no word on the exact condition of the officers, but police say they were conscious when they were taken to the hospital.

A Pennsylvania lawmaker has now decided to not run for re-election after a fellow lawmaker claims he was violent and abusive towards her. State Rep. Nick Miccarelli of Delaware County stated on Wednesday that he has decided to remove his name from the upcoming ballot. Miccarelli says that it is in his best interest to move on to a new chapter, but stated that his accuser, Rep. Tarah Toohil's, allegations are false. Toohil alleges that Miccarelli pulled a gun and threatened to kill her when they dated several years ago, she also says that he had been physically intimidating to her even at the Capitol this year. Miccarelli's office issued a statement on the decision:

"After much personal reflection and consultation with my family, staff and legislative colleagues, I have decided today to remove my name from the ballot for re-election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, effective immediately.
I am making this difficult decision at this time to afford my party the opportunity to designate a new Republican candidate to be placed on the ballot for the May 15th Primary Election. I know this decision will be questioned by my many supporters and loyal constituents who have stood by me through some recent, trying times, but it's in the best interests of me and my family to move on to the next chapter in our lives.

I love this country and Commonwealth and have honorably served both overseas in combat and will continue to answer the call of duty for both in the future. My decision not to seek re-election should in no way be misconstrued by the public or misrepresented by the media as any admission of wrongdoing on my part. I intend to continue to work to clear my good name and reputation and put this current controversial situation behind me, once and for all. Finally, I thank the good people of the 162nd Legislative District for the honor of having been able to serve them for the past 10 years."
