Five Accusers In Cosby Trial; PSU Frat Assault Charges Dropped; Radnor Hit and Run Suspect Arrested

The judge for the Bill Cosby sexual assault retrial has now agreed to let five additional accusers testify. Prosecutors will be able to select five of the eight women who claim their incidents happened between 1982-1996, that includes the one woman who testified in Cosby's first trial. Prosecutros say that the women's testimony is evidence of Cosby's prior bad acts. The jury selection is scheduled to begin on March 29th and the trial is set for April 2nd.

Pennsylvania Prosecutors stated on Thursday that they have dropped all assault charges against the former Penn State fraternity in the hazing death of 19-year-old pledge Tim Piazza. The dropping of the assault charge spared the defendants the most serious allegations against the fraternity. Local prosecutors had been previously handling the case, but a new county district attorney referred it to the state. The attorney general's office informed the judge of the change in charges for 14 of the 26 accused ahead of next week's scheduled hearing. Prosecutors will continue to pursue involuntary manslaughter charges against four of the fraternity members.

Radnor authorities have announced the arrest of the driver who was wanted for the deadly hit-and-run that occurred in Radnor last week. 30-year-old Kevin Gaughan turned himself in at the Radnor Township Municipal Building on Thursday morning. The incident took place last Tuesday March 6th just after 8 pm on the 500 block of East Lancaster Avenue. 69-year-old Fred Gitterman was crossing Lancaster Avenue when he was struck by Gaughan's car. He was taken to Bryn Mawr hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police say Gaughan slowed down but later sped off. Gaughan's bail was set at 10% of $500,000. He later posted bail and was released on Thursday afternoon. He faces up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted on all charges.
