Truck Hits Overpass in Radnor - Again!; Church Has Couples' Blessing w/ AR-15s; Dicks Stops AR Sales

A box truck slammed into to a railroad overpass and fell on its side in Delaware County this morning. It happened on King of Prussia Road between Radnor-Chester Road and Matsonford Road near the Radnor train station around 8:30 a.m. This is the fourth time since last November that a truck has hit the bridge despite posted clearance limits. Heavy duty tow trucks were able to pull the truck out from under the overpass. No one was injured.

World Peace and Unification Sanctuary in Newfoundland, PA, held a ceremony this morning at their church in Northeast Pennsylvania. Several hundred couples were invited to attend and "(re)dedicate their marriages to each other and most importantly to God." However, the event has drawn much scrutiny because those couples were also encouraged to bring AR-15 or equivalent type rifles. The weapons would demonstrate "both the intent and the ability to defend one's family, community." Pastor Hyung jin Moon explained in a Facebook post how the references to "rod of iron" in the Book of Revelation relate to protection and self-defense. All weapons were unloaded, zip tied, and checked at the door. The church is down the street from Wallenpaupack South Elementary School. School was closed for the day and students were bused to neighboring schools.

Dick's Sporting Goods announced this morning that it will stop selling assault style rifles and high capacity magazines. The company stopped selling the weapons in DICK's stores following the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, but will now remove them from all 35 Field & Stream stores. They will also no longer sell firearms to anyone under 21 years of age. Dick's admitted that they legally sold a shotgun in November to the Parkland, FL shooter. He did not use that weapon in the attack but could have. They are calling on stricter gun measures like raising the legal age and assault weapons bans.

Weather
