Fmr. Radnor Official Indicted; Falling Beam Kills Man; FL Officer Didn't Enter School

A former Radnor Township Commissioner, Phillip Ahr, has been indicted for child pornography charges by a federal grand jury. Officials say Ahr turned himself in on Thursday morning after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. Ahr is accused of downloading and sharing child pornographic images across the internet. 66-year-old Ahr resigned from his spot on the Radnor Township board after he was arrested this past October.

A New Jersey man was killed on Thursday after an electrical beam collapsed on several cars inside of the Lehigh Tunnel. 70-year-old Howard Sexton was driving a tractor-trailer for Raymour and Flanagan when a metal beam fell from the tunnel, crashing through the truck's windshield and hitting him in the head. Sexton ended up continuing southbound out of the tunnel for about a mile until his tractor-trailer came to a stop about a mile away. He was found about three hours later, where he was pronounced dead. Turnpike officials say that the tunnel was inspected in September 2016 but they would not say if there was any work that had been done recently to the affected area.

An investigation is underway after the armed deputy officer stationed at the Florida school where a gunman killed 17 people never went inside the building when he arrived on the scene. The officer, Scot Peterson, arrived at the school and reportedly waited outside and never went in as the shooter killed students and faculty. Peterson was suspended without pay and placed under investigation, he later chose to resign. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said he was "devastated, sick to my stomach. There are no words. I mean, these families lost their children. ... I've been to the funerals. ... I've been to the vigils. It's just, ah, there are no words." When asked what the deputy should have done Israel stated, "went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer."
