The Wig-Wearing Woman accused of a series of fraud cases in New Jersey has been arrested. 43-year-old Brooke Slade of Arizona was arrested on Thursday after being recognized from social media posts. It started at the PNC Bank on Sunset Avenue in Ashbury Park around 4 pm. A bank teller at the drive-up window recognized the woman from media coverage and called police. She had tried to use a fake ID and stolen debit cards to make a withdraw. When police arrived, Slade drove off. The officer tried to follow but lost her. A few minutes later police got a call about a woman trespassing and seen removing a vehicle's license plate in the same area. She had run off by the time police arrived. Officers flooded the area and found her nearby. Slade has initially been charged with eluding, Xanax possession, receiving stolen property, a number of driving offenses from today's antics. Additional charges from the fraud cases are expected. Tom's River police thanked the public for their help:

"We want to take a moment and sincerely thank everyone who helped share our posts far and wide. We cannot be omnipresent in our policing and we value the efforts of citizen crime fighters who take the time to get involved; even if it is for a brief moment to like and share our posts. Your efforts have been successful time and time again in the apprehension of people determined to take advantage of innocent hard working citizens."

The chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Committee is stepping down. Marcel Groen, 72 of Montgomery County, announced he was resigning Friday morning after 3 years as chairman. He has recently come under fire for comments he made about how the party handles sexual harassment allegations. Groen doesn't believe he did anything wrong and thinks his comments were taken out of context, but he doesn't wish to be a distraction especially in an election year. "I have always believed that the commonwealth’s chief executive should have final say on whom the chairman of the party should be. The governor’s staff informed me that he no longer wants me to serve as chairman of the party."

A man was killed trying to jump on a moving train. It happened on Thursday night around 10:20 p.m at SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line Spring Garden station. The 32-year-old man got off an eastbound train and realized it was the wrong stop. He tried to jump back on the train as it pulled away. He fell between two cars and was run over. The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
