Deadly Altercation In Oxford; 19 Accusers For Cosby Retrial; Kauffman Remains In Jail

Philadelphia Police are now investigating a deadly incident that occurred in the Oxford section of Philadelphia. The incident happened on the 5900 block of Belden Street just after 1 pm on Thursday. Officials say that a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arguing inside of a home, when the man approached her with a knife and slit her throat. When medics arrived on the scene the woman was pronounced dead. Police took the man into custody and recovered a weapon at the scene.

The Prosecutors preparing for Bill Cosby's retrial on sexual assault charges want to call 19 other accusers to show a pattern of "prior bad acts" over five decades. In Cosby's previous trial, the prosecutors had 13 accusers, but the judge only allowed 1 of them to testify. Pennsylvania law allows a testimony about prior bad acts if the fit the same crime pattern. Cosby is being charged with drugging and sexually assaulting a Temple University employee. Cosby has stated that the sexual encounter between them was consensual.

A New Jersey judge ruled on Thursday to have Dr. James Kauffman remain in jail. Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury has refused to let Kauffman as well as Ferdinand Augello, the man he hired as a hit man, out on bail while awaiting his trial. The judge said that Kauffman and Augello were not only a danger and a threat to the community at large but also a threat to each other. Augello has since been charged with conspiring to have Kauffman killed while in jail. Kauffman has been charged in arraigning the murder of his wife, April Kaffman back in May 2012.
