New Regional Rail Schedule; Man Shot By Police In Kensington; Car Plunges Into Delaware River

SEPTA has announced the revised Regional Rail schedule that went into effect on this past Sunday. Some of the big changes will have the trains leaving the station earlier or later than previously scheduled. On the Paoli/Thorndale line, there will be some significant changes to the Weekday schedule. For a full list of all changes to the new SEPTA schedule visit here.

Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a man was shot in the Kensington section of Philadelphia during a traffic stop. Officers say the shooting took place after police pulled a vehicle over on the 2800 block of Kensington Avenue. One police officer was talking with the driver; the officer was talking with the passenger. This is when the officer noticed a bulge coming from the passenger's waistband, he opened the door and patted the area and felt a handgun. The officer then alerted his partner, who drew his firearm. The passenger then tried to pull out his gun while exiting the car. While this was happening, two other highway patrol officers stopped to assist, the officers say that the passenger began to run at this point. The second officer at the car fired 1 round towards the passenger and one of the responding officers fired 4 rounds at the passenger. The 22-year-old passenger was taken to taken into custody as well as to Temple University Hospital with gunshot wounds to the torso and face; he is listed in critical condition. The 26-year-old driver of the car was not charged with any offense.

Police in Burlington County are investigating after a car plunged into the Delaware River, killing one person, injuring another. The incident took place at around 1 pm on 138 Riverbank in Burlington, New Jersey, officials say there was an accident that led to the car in the river. The man and the women were stuck inside of the vehicle as it began to sink. Officials say that the man was able to get out of the car, but the woman still remained inside. The woman later died from her injuries sustained. Police are still investigating into the exact nature of the accident.
