Almost one thousand gathered to remember and say goodbye to Philadelphia Fire Lt. Matthew LeTourneau today who lost his life fighting a fire last Saturday. The funeral mass was held at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. Firefighters from around the area stood outside to watch as his casket was brought inside. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, Fire Commissioner Adam K. Thiel, and LeTourneau's brother, Luke LeTourneau, spoke before the service. The 42-year-old from Springfield, Delaware County was an 11-year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department. He was a volunteer with the Springfield department since he was a teen. After mass, the procession led from Center City to Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield for the burial. The Philadelphia Fire Department announced it will posthumously promote LeTourneau to captain. You can rewatch the funeral mass below:

The suspect in a deadly hit-and-run in Bucks County last month is believed to have fled the country. The Bucks County District Attorney's office said on Friday that 35-year-old Ali Hakan Cifter of Levittown is accused of striking and killing 52-year-old Kevin Williams Jr. who was riding his bicycle on Route 13 near Corson Street on December 19 in Bristol Borough. Apparently, Cifter was racing his 2003 Mercedes Benz AMG at the time. He drove his damaged car home and parked it in a garage. He told his roommate that he hit a deer. On December 23rd, the roommate contacted authorities and told them about the car, but Cifter had already fled to Serbia on Dec. 21st. Cifter has reached out to Bristol Borough police from Serbia and confessed his involvement and that he was racing. He claims the victim jumped out in front of him and that he left the scene because he was scared. Cifter has been charged with homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, and other charges. The Bucks County DA is working with federal authorities to have him extradited.

The eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) in Montgomery County have reopened after they were closed earlier this afternoon due to a mudslide. The slide was probably caused by the heavy rain and snow melt. It happened between the Gladwyne and Belmont exits in Montgomery County. Crews were able to clean it up and reopen the lanes just before 2 p.m.

Weather
Tonight, Rain, temperatures around 60 this evening in Center City
