Imprisoned Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill received a visit today from a famous civil rights activist. Rev. Al Sharpton visited Mill, aka Robert Rihmeek Williams, at Chester State Correctional Facility this afternoon. Sharpton heads the National Action Network which pushes for criminal justice reform. Mill was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison earlier this month for violating probation. Many have rallied and called the sentence unjust and excessive. Others say that he was given many chances to stay out of trouble but failed. Billboards, buses, and other advertising has sprung up around the city for Justice 4 Meek

Philadelphia police have identified the grandmother and father of a 3-year-old girl that shot herself in the leg on Sunday in the Kingsessing neighborhood. 64-year-old Barbara McGill is charged with Endangering Welfare of a Child, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Tampering with Evidence. Terrance Williams is charged with Endangering Welfare of a Child and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. It happened at 12:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of South Wilton Street. The girl had found her father's loaded hand gun and shot herself in the thigh. Because of the angle she was sitting, the bullet entered her thigh and exited her calf. She was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to have surgery. Earlier in the day when the father left for work, he asked his mother to put his gun away. She placed it in a closet in a holster, but without a lock. Williams does have a permit. The girl still found the gun and shot herself. The grandmother initially hid the gun from police.

Police in Delaware County are searching for a suspect wanted for beating and robbing an elderly blind man in broad daylight on Sunday. It happened around 2:30 p.m. on the unit block of Glendale Road in Upper Darby. The 75-year-old man was beaten and robbed of money and cell phone. He was taken to the hospital with a fractured leg. If you have any information, you are asked to call police at 610-734-7693.
