A charred body was discovered on top of a SEPTA Regional Rail car this morning in Center City. The body was first seen about 7:50 a.m. as the inbound Chestnut Hill East train entered Jefferson Station. Police say the body is a male in his late teens. He suffered severe burns all over his body including his clothing. Investigators are trying to determine when, where, and how the body got on the train as well as an identification of the victim. Rail service was delayed for a few hours this morning but has since been restored to normal.

Police are looking for a suspect wanted for stealing a donation jar from a beer store in South Philadelphia earlier this month. It was caught on surveillance video. It happened on November 1st at 7:15 p.m. at Porter Street Beverage on the 700 block of West Porter Street. The man walks into the store, gets a beer from the refrigerator, brings it to the counter, and pays for the beverage. As he is putting his purchase in a black plastic bag the suspect grabs a donation jar from the counter and leaves the store. You can see the suspect clearly in the surveillance video. Anyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia Police South Detective Division at 215-686-3013/3014.

Police responded to the scene of a dog attack in Hunting Park last night. It happened around 9 p.m. on the 1300 block of West Pike Street. Officers found a 50-year-old man being attacked by four pit bulls. The dogs were biting him on the leg. Police fired one shot and killed one of the dogs. The man was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition where he died a short time later. However, police say that he did not die from the dog bites and that he may have been under the influence of narcotics. The investigation into the incident continues.
