A man was shot and killed while driving in West Philadelphia on Saturday night and crashed his mini-van into a building. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 600 block of North 52nd Street. The 29-year-old male driver was shot in the chest/right side. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he died from his injuries. The man was driving a mini-van wrapped with advertising for the Bee Your Hair Salon located on the 600 block of South 52nd Street. He actually crashed the vehicle into another salon, Hair Image, which is on North 52nd Street near Girard Ave. No arrests have been made.

Authorities are still investigating the massive fire at a senior living facility in West Chester on Thursday night. Chester County officials are coordinating with the ATF's National Response Team. Fire broke out at the Barclay Friends Senior Living Community around 10:30 p.m. There were over 140 residents inside at the time, plus staff members. 27 people were injured and so far no confirmed deaths. There are still a few unaccounted for after the fire. "We are still making every effort to make sure that everybody is accounted for and contact the families," said ATF special agent Charlene Hennessy. The ATF will continue its investigation into the cause of the fire on Sunday. Donations for the residents will be accepted on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Good Will Fire Company in West Chester. They are specifically looking for toiletries, pajamas, bathrobes, adult diapers, walkers and canes. Families of residents can pickup supplies on Monday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

UPDATE: The donation drive was an overwhelming success on Sunday. In fact, the drive had to be ended early because they were at maximum capacity. Family members are invited to come to the Good Will Fire Company to pick up supplies on Monday. More information is at: Barclay Friends website.

The Philadelphia Marathon weekend is in full swing. That means not only major road closures around the Art Museum and Ben Franklin Parkway, but also throughout other parts of the city along the race course. No parking goes into effect at 2 am along many roads and closures could last until 6 pm. Streets are expected to open as soon as all racers pass and cleanup is finish. For a list of all road closures and parking restrictions go to: https://phlevents.org/2017/11/15/marathon-weekend-road-closures/. The runners will have less than ideal conditions. Rain is forecast to begin to clear up by start time at 7 a.m. The wind, however, will pick up and temperatures will start to drop. Temperatures will be about 50 with winds WNW 20-30 mph gusting to 40. Good luck to all racers!
