Trooper and Suspect ID's in Shooting; Body Found in Birdsboro; 1 Killed, 1 injured in Car Shooting

The suspect in yesterday's Pennsylvania State Trooper shooting was arraigned today while is his hospital bed. 22-year-old Daniel Khalil Clary is charged with two counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, in addition to two counts of criminal homicide, assault of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault and other related offenses. He will remain in the hospital until he has recovered enough to be transported to jail. Clary was hit in the neck, side and hand. 39-year-old Cpl. Seth Kelly was struck in the leg, neck, and shoulder area. Kelly had responded to the scene as backup. Trooper Ryan Seiple had pulled over Clary for speeding, and later determined he was under the influence and called for backup. When the troopers attempted to place Clary under arrest, he fought back and got free. He retrieved a gun from his car and opened fire on the officers. Cpl. Kelly was able to used a tourniquet he carried on his belt to help stop his bleeding. Cpl. Kelly is in critical, but stable condition. He has another surgery scheduled.

Police in Berks County are investigating after the body of a woman was found behind a building in a wooded area. The discovery was made after 11 a.m. behind a Reading Coffee Roasters on Main Street in Birdsboro. Several businesses including a day care in the area were closed as police cordoned of access to the area. Authorities are on the scene. Anyone with information should contact police at 610-378-4011.

A gunman opened fire on a car in West Kensington on Tuesday night, killing 1 and injuring another. It happened at 8:30 p.m. at Lehigh and Front Street. The victims' car was on Lehigh Ave stopped at a red light at Front street when the gunman got out of another car and opened fire into the driver's side window. The 24-year-old driver managed to drive to Episcopal Hospital and crash into the the front gate. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 14-year-old passenger is in critical condition. The shooter is still at large.
