Philadelphia officials have gotten the approval from the Art Commision on Wednesday to start installing 100 kiosks around the city that will provide free public WiFi. The kiosks will provide free WiFi in Center City as well as other designated locations. The service will be provided and maintained by Intersection, which is a smart city tech and media company. Along with the WiFi kiosks, the city is also planning on installing a kiosk for free device charging stations, phone calls, emergency services as well as city information. Officials say that the kiosks will be put into action on the streets by sometime in the middle of next year.

Around 125 guns have been seized in Upper Darby and are being shipped off to be melted down. The guns that were collected were either confiscated or brought in during guilty pleas. The guns are now being sent to a trash to steam plant, where they will eventually be turned into electricity. Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood stated that over the past 5 years, the Upper Darby Police Department has melted down around 400 to 500 guns.

A family in New Jersey found a sewing needle hidden in a piece of candy that was collected by their child on Halloween night. The Wagoners, who live Runnemede, New Jersey returned home after trick or treating this past Tuesday night, when their daughter decided to open up a tootsie roll to eat. Their daughter decided to cut it in half, to save another half for later, but upon breaking it, she realized something was stuck inside. The daughter then took it to her mother, and this is when the family found the needle inside of the piece of candy. Police were called to the home and investigated the rest of their daughters candy to see if anymore was tampered with. The family says they visited around 60 homes that night. Police are now beginning an investigation, going door to door to figure out where the tampered candy came from.
