Seth Williams Disbarred; Mayfair Mail Fishing Scam; Racial Texts Lead To Fight At NJ High School

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled on Thursday to disbar former District Attorney Seth Williams. Last June, Williams pled guilty to federal corruption charges and then resigned as district attorney. Williams is now facing up to 5 years in prison and is set to be sentenced next Tuesday.

Philadelphia Police are now warning residents to keep an eye out for a mailbox fishing scan that has been taking place in the city. Police have recently arrested 5 suspects for stealing mail right out of people's mailboxes. The incident happened this past Tuesday along the 7100 block of Frankford Avenue in the Mayfair section. Surveillance footage caught the suspects, who were dressed like utility workers, wearing reflective vests. The footage shows the suspect dropping a line inside of the mailbox, and begins to pull out the mail, then walks away. The suspects are now facing federal charges for the crimes.

Tensions were high on Tuesday at Washington Township High School after some students were in an outrage and participated in a peaceful sit-in protest over racist texts that were seen by many at the school. The texts were filled with profanity such as the "N" word as well as another saying "Y'all think your cool cause your skin is black but I think we should bring the KKK back." A fight recently broke out in the hallway of the school over the racial texts this past Wednesday. There were also threats that more violence would befall the school on Thursday leading to police presence at the school to deter any violent situations that could arise. Many parents came to the school on Thursday to pick their kids up early, in fear that more fights may break out. School officials have stated that have reprimanded those involved in the incident, giving them a 10-day suspension.
