The 31st annual AIDS Walk/Run Philly 5K was held on Sunday morning, those participating raised over $275,000. The walk began Sunday morning in Eakins Oval, then went down Martin Luther King Drive, ending back in Eakins Oval. Over 10,000 people participated in the event. The $275,000 raised in the event will be used to support nearly 30,000 people who are living with HIV in the Greater Philadelphia area.

The School District of Philadelphia said on Sunday that John B. Kelly Elementary school in Germantown will remain closed on Monday October 16th. The school has been closed since October 12th after mold was found in several classrooms. The mold was caused by heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) issues. The school will continue to be closed while cleanup continues. All staff is reporting to Hill Freedman World Academy at 1100 Mount Pleasant St.

Philadelphia Police have now arrested a man who is allegedly responsible for trying to run down a sheriff's deputy in South Philadelphia on Saturday night. The incident took place on the 3000 block of South 7th Street at around 11:30 pm on Saturday. Two deputies with the Philadelphia Sheriff's office were working on finding a missing runaway, when they noticed the runaway inside of a passing car. The deputies pulled the vehicle over and told the driver, Deven Harley, to exit his vehicle. He then proceeded to put the car in drive and strike one of the deputies with his car, as well as breaking the drivers side mirror off of the deputies car. Harley later ditched his car on the 900 block of Johnston Street and ran. He later was arrested. The deputy was not seriously injured. Harley has now been charged with aggravated assault charges. The runaway, 14-year-old Hannah Jones, fled and is still missing.

A small group of white supremacists rallied for a march in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park over the weekend. Some of the demonstrators wore masks as they walked and rallied along Boathouse Row. There were counter protestors present as well, but luckily the protests stayed peaceful. Philadelphia Police were informed of the rally in advance. They were on site to prevent any violence that may arise.
