A lone gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay resort and casino down onto the Route 91 Harvest Festival outdoor country music concert on Sunday night. It happened around 10:08 pm local time as Jason Aldean was performing. Tens of thousands were attending the concert at the Las Vegas Village open air venue across the street from Mandalay Bay when rapid fire shots rang out over the crowd. At least 59 have been killed and 527 were injured in the shooting or stampede to leave the concert. SWAT teams used explosives to breach the shooter's hotel room and found he had shot himself. He has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock of Mesquite, NV. He was found with 23 guns and had been staying in the room since Thursday. 19 more guns were found at his home. Authorities believe at this point he acted as a "lone wolf" with no ties to "international terrorism." U.S. Homeland Security Department also says there is no "specific credible threat" to other venues. There is no word on a motive.

Philadelphia Police have identified the man arrested in the shooting of a 6-year-old boy in North Philadelphia on Friday. 22-year-old Abdul Holmes has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Central Detectives and SWAT executed a search warrant on the suspect's home on Sunday and took him into custody without incident. The shooting happened on Friday night around 7:50 p.m. near 24th and Norris Streets. The boy was standing outside his home when he was struck in the left shoulder and taken to St. Christopher's Hospital. He remains hospitalized in good condition.

A Montgomery County man has been charged with killing his girlfriend in Bucks County on Sunday night. It happened on the 300 block of Main Street in Tullytown. Police arrived to find 45-year-old Helen Lynn Farr dead of a gunshot wound with 33-year-old Anthony Depolo standing beside her with his gun in his holster. Depolo initially told police that Farr grabbed his gun and shot herself. He changed his story and told interrogators that the pair had been arguing and he shot her when she came at him. Depolo is being held without bail.
