Officials in Northampton County announced this afternoon that a Lafayette College student who died last week suffered a fatal head injury when he fell and hit the concrete floor of his dorm room. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said that there is no evidence of a crime and charges are unlikely. 19-year-old McCrae Williams was found outside his dorm on Sunday, September 10th by campus police who were responding to a medical call. He was taken to the hospital were he died the next day. Williams had been drinking at a party on Saturday afternoon with friends. Sometime later on Saturday he was in his dorm room with a female friend and got up about to be sick. That's when he fell. Authorities interviewed friends, checked surveillance footage, text messages, and other evidence. Morganelli said that Williams' friends checked on him through the night and next day and called for medical assistance when they became concerned on Sunday afternoon. He says this is "not a Penn State case." Hazing was not involved.

Philadelphia Police have arrested a man in connection to a series of luring attempts of children last week. 35-year-old Marwan Deeb of the 800 block of Fanshawe Street is charged with four counts of luring of a child into a motor vehicle and four counts of corruption of a minor. Deeb has been implicated in three of the six incidents reported. On Tuesday, September 12th, students say a male offered them money to get in the back seat of his car in Somerton. On Friday, September 15th, at two separate locations in Frankford, a male showed cash and a camera to two different 10-year-old girls and asked to take their picture. Police are still investigating the other three incidents. One happened shortly after the other two in Frankford on Friday and the other happened on Thursday.

A trial date is now set for the man accused of robbing and stabbing Philadelphia City Councilman David Oh in May outside his home in Southwest Philadelphia. 24-year-old Shawn Yarbray is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other offenses. Trial is set to begin January 8th, 2018 in Commonwealth Court. Yarbray's attorney, Sam Stretton, says police have the wrong man even though Oh, who was face to face with his attacker, picked him out of a lineup. He plans to bring expert witnesses to testify on why eyewitness accounts are unreliable. Stretton also claims to have strong alibi evidence to show Yarbray was somewhere else at the time.
