Philadelphia Police have identified the teenage suspect arrested for shooting a 38-year-old father of two in an attempted car-jacking in the city's Spring Garden section last week. 16-year-old Marvin Roberts is being charged as an adult with Murder, Robbery, Carjacking, Criminal Conspiracy, Possession of an Instrument of a Crime, Reckless Endangerment of Another Person, and Numerous Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act. His brother, 21-year-old Maurice Roberts, is also in custody in New Jersey and awaits extradition. It happened at 8 p.m. Thursday on the 1500 block of Melon Street. Gerard Grandzol had just arrived home when the two brothers confronted him. He handed over his wallet but refused to give them the keys to his car because his 2-year-old daughter was still in the back seat. Marvin then shot Grandzol point blank in the face and the two brothers fled. The incident was captured on surveillance video and police were able to follow the brothers as they escaped. Grandzol was taken to Hahnemann where he died. A vigil is being held Monday at 6:15 p.m. at the corner of 15th and Melon streets.

Philadelphia Police have identified the suspect and the victim in a deadly hit-and-run yesterday in the city's Tacony neighborhood. It happened around 4:30 p.m. near the corner of Torresdale Avenue and Magee Street. 32-year-old Luis Hernandez was swerving back and forth, hitting several cars along the way, when he struck 73-year-old Normal Ewing. Ewing was dragged for several blocks. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Police caught up to Hernandez a few blocks away. It is believed he was driving under the influence.

Officials at a Bucks County high school were on alert today after a threat was discovered written on a stall in a boy's bathroom yesterday. The threat was against Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown and referenced today's date, September 11th, 2017. The exact nature of the message was not released but police are investigating. The school was open for classes on Monday, but as a precaution extra security and police officers were on hand. Absence from school today will be excused. Principal Timothy P. Donovan sent this letter home:

I am writing to provide you with information pertaining to a threat the Central Bucks High School West administration has discovered. The threat was written in a boys' bathroom stall and referenced the date, September 11, 2017. We immediately implemented the school's threat assessment protocol and the administration contacted Central Bucks Regional Police Department and an investigation began. The situation was promptly addressed to ensure the safety of our school community. As a precautionary measure, the police will be at the high school on Monday. If you choose not to send your child to school, please email the absence to westattendance@cbsd.org and his/her absence will be excused. The administration, teachers, staff, and our emergency responders take our responsibility seriously for ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff. As Principal, I ask for and appreciate your continued support in condemning any disruptive act that affects our school community. Working together, students, parents and staff can continue to demonstrate the pride we have in our school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 267-893-2500.
