Former Eagle Jon Dorenbos Heart Surgery; Student Attacked at LaSalle; Guilty Plea in Brutal Beating

Former Philadelphia Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos will have emergency open heart surgery after an aortic aneurysm was discovered during a physical following his recent trade to the New Orleans Saints. Saints team doctor Dr. John Amoss found the pre-existing condition while performing a team physical on the 37-year-old Dorenbos. Saints head coach Sean Payton said that the doctor "basically saved his life with his findings." The Eagles traded the veteran to New Orleans on August 28th for a 2019 seventh-round pick. That trade will likely be rescinded because of the pre-existing condition, however, that discovery can be considered a blessing. Dorenbos played in the league for three years before signing with the Eagles in 2006. Last year, he became nationally known outside of football as a magician competing on America's Got Talent.

Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects after a LaSalle University student was attacked and sexually assaulted in a park a few blocks from campus overnight. It happened at Kemble Park in the Logan section before midnight on Thursday. The 18-year-old female was walking along Olney Ave and talking on the phone with her boyfriend when she was jumped by two males. They threw her to the ground and assaulted her. The woman's boyfriend called police to the scene. University officials were notified and a campus notice was sent out. A victim's advocate from the school was also sent to help the woman while she was taken to the hospital and interviewed by Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit. The advocate stayed after the family arrived to help them as well. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A Chester County man has pled guilty to the brutal beating death of his girlfriend's son in exchange for a life sentence plus 10 - 20 years without the possibility of parole. 25-year-old Gary Fellenbaum III now will not face trial and the possibility of the death penalty. His girlfriend, Jillian Tait, and wife, Amber Fellenbaum, all lived together in a mobile home in West Caln Township along with Tait's two boys Ryan, 6, and Scotty, 3. Jillian has already pled guilty to third degree murder and conspiracy. Amber pleaded guilt to child endangerment. Both boys were beaten but Scotty took the brunt of the assaults and eventually died. It happened over a three day period in November 2014. Scotty was punched in the face and body, tied to a chair, hung upside down by his feet, beaten with a homemade whip, a curtain rod, and a piece of aluminum siding all because he didn't eat his breakfast. Gary will spend the rest of his life in prison. The two women will be sentenced later this year.
