Upper Darby Police are now investigating after a woman was tied up in an alleged home invasion. Police say that the incident took place along the 6800 block of Coverly Road. First Responders reported that a man allegedly broke into the home and bound the woman who was inside of the home. Police say that the suspect was able to flee out the backdoor before they arrived. It is not clear if they were able to get away with any valuables. Police are continuing an investigation.

Many local drivers have noticed the current rise in gas prices taking effect right now as a result of Hurricane Harvey's path of destruction in Houston. The storm has shut down many of the oil refineries that are located along the Gulf Coast, raising gas prices. The national average for gas right now is $2.66 per gallon, but one BP gas station in Doylestown, Bucks County went all the way up to $3.97 per gallon. Officials say that once the gulf coast refineries are re-opened, the gas prices will begin to stabilize.

A team of highly trained search and rescue members from Philadelphia are now making their way down south in anticipation for Hurricane Irma. 41 members on PA's Task Force 1 are headed down south to meet up with colleagues assisting in Houston as well as to brace for Hurricane Irma. The majority of the team is comprised of members from the Philadelphia Fire Company, as well as being assisted by 4 search and rescue dogs. The group will be stationed in Alabama, until they are needed in Florida, where a majority of the heavy damage is supposed to take place.
