Hurricane Harvey continues to cause devastation in the greater Houston area and Southeast Texas. It hit the Gulf Coast on Friday night as a Category 4 storm near areas like Rockport and Corpus Christie with damaging winds that destroying structures and leveled the landscapes. Now the storm has stalled in the area dumping incredible amounts of rain. Areas are expected to get 2-4 feet of rain by the time it eventually spins its way out of there in a few days. 1000's of people have been rescued by boats navigating flooded streets or helicopters plucking them from rooftops like it was during Katrina 12 years ago. President Trump has already declared it a natural disaster and activated FEMA. The American Red Cross is sending teams down to the area to help. Trump plans to visit Texas on Tuesday.

Police in Camden County, NJ, are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted for slashing tires on numerous emergency vehicles. It happened around 1:30 a.m. outside the Police and Municipal building on the 100 block of Kennedy Boulevard in Somerdale. The man was caught on security cameras vandalizing the vehicles. He slashed 52 tires in total on 9 police cruisers, 1 fire vehicle, and 3 officer's personal vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to call police. Watch the video below.

A Philadelphia public school teacher was arrested for making threats against Philadelphia police officers while demonstrating at the Frank Rizzo statue last week. 63-year-old John Edward Sheerin of Lawncrest is a teacher at Lewis Elkin Elementary School. He has been charged with terroristic threats and harassment. Most of the event was caught on video by a local reporter. (see video below) The incident happened on August 16th while a small group was protesting at the controversial statue. A number of police were guarding the monument which has been the target of vandalism. They had set up a bike rack fence around the statue for protection. At one point the police told the crowd to move back so they could reposition the railing. Sheerin was one of several in the crowd that took offense to being pushed back. Many were shouting back at the police standing behind the fence. On the video, Sheerin can be seen and heard escalating his insults and use of profanity. Some of the others tried to calm him down, however, he moved beyond calling the cops names and began to threaten acts of physical violence against the officer in charge. He was arrested without incident and released on bail. The School District of Philadelphia released this statement:

"The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. This is a matter which we take very seriously," the statement read. "The School District is aware of his arrest, but prior to his arrest Mr. Sheerin had been under investigation. He has been removed from his school pending our investigation."
