Anthony Scaramucci is out as White House communications director, just 10 days since he appointed to the position. Scaramucci's time in the West Wing has been tumultuous at best. Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer resigned immediately the day 'Mooch' was appointed. Last week, Scaramucci called out other members of the senior staff in an expletive-laden phone conversation with a reporter for the New Yorker. As a result, former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus also stepped down. Earlier today, Gen. John Kelly was sworn in President Donald Trump’s new White House Chief of Staff. In a statement released by the White House, "Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team.” It also became public last week that his wife of 3 years had filed for divorce while she was 9 months pregnant. Deidre Ball gave birth to their son James last Monday.

A teen girl was hit and a small child was narrowly missed by stray gunfire in the city's Feltonville neighborhood last night. It happened around 11:45 p.m. Sunday along the 4900 block of B Street. A 17-year-old girl was sitting inside her home watching TV in her living room when a shot came through the window and struck her in the chest. She was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children where she was treated and released. An off-duty officer saw the suspects run into a building on the same block. SWAT teams eventually cleared the building and did not find the suspects. A 4-year-old girl was narrowly hit by the same gunfire when a bullet came through a window and hit a wall. Other neighbors found bullet holes in their vehicles. No arrests have been made.

Police have found a Philadelphia mother who left her 7-month-old baby in a Bensalem hotel and never returned. She was found at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure. 34-year-old Erica Avila-Lopez faces charges of endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, and narcotics offenses. Authorities were called to the Knights Inn on Lincoln Highway around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Hotel staff entered the room to clean after Avila-Lopez did not check out. That's when they discovered the baby. There was also heroin, crack, and drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Investigators believe that Avila-Lopez left the room at 4 p.m. on Saturday and did not come back. The child was given to Philadelphia DHS. If you have any information call police at 215-633-3700.
