Officials in Bucks County have announced a new program aimed at fighting the growing drug epidemic. Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub along with Bucks County Crime Stoppers made the announcement outside of the Falls Township Municipal Building in Fairless Hills. It is called "Push Out the Pusher." Rewards of up to $5,000 are being offered to anyone who reports suspected drug activity that results in the conviction of a drug dealer. Lawn signs will be available with the program hotline number (215) 345-3784. Authorities hope to have these signs all over Bucks County to make people aware of the program. If you call to report suspicious activity, your identity will not be revealed. A special 6-detective strike force will follow up on the reports and investigate.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man died in a dirt bike accident on Thursday afternoon. It happened just after 3 p.m. on the 3800 block of Whitaker Avenue in Juniata Park/Feltonville. Police say that the 30-year-old dirt bike driver was going south on Whitaker. He attempted to go around a box truck and lost control. The rider ended up under the truck. He was transported to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney was at the Murphy Recreation Center on West Shunk Street in South Philadelphia for the ceremonial opening of the city's pools. His lifeguard whistle was the signal for the kids to jump in. Councilman Mark Squilla got in the fun and jumped in with all his clothes on, shirt, tie and all. The city has 70 public indoor and outdoor pools. View dates for pool opening dates below. More information.
