Underground Fire Cause Street Closure; Fraudulent Car Lot In Mayfair; Cosby Alt. Juror Speaks Out

A stretch of 5th Street in Old City was closed Monday night after an underground fire occurred. Crews blocked off the road between Chestnut and Walnut streets. Fire crews arrived on the scene after smoke began to rise from underneath the manhole in the street. Crews were able to get the fire out, but the road remained closed the majority of the night, as they wanted to ensure the safety of vehicles driving on the road. Fire crews are still investigating what caused the fire.

Pennsylvania State Investigators have placed two men into custody after they were caught running a fraudulent used car lot in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. The two were supposed to be selling cars on consignment, but instead told their customers that they owned the cars, and took their money from them. Officials say that the owners received no money from the two men selling the cars. The two have been charged with scamming hundreds and thousands of people and police are hoping to contact anyone else who may have been affected.

One of the alternate jurors for the Bill Cosby sexual assault case spoke out today about the residing judge's decision to call a mistrial. 43-year-old Mike McCloskey stated that if it were up to him, he "probably" would have voted to convict Cosby of his trial. McCloskey stated that he felt "ridiculously sick" that the jury couldn't come up with a verdict for the comedian. The jury stated that they were hopelessly deadlocked into coming up with a verdict for Cosby. The prosecution is now trying to set up a second court date to continue their case against Cosby.
