Philadelphia Police have now taken a suspect into custody, after striking a Drexel University student in the University City section of Philadelphia. The incident took place during the early morning hours of Saturday. Police say that the 24-year-old victim was crossing 38th and Market Streets when a Lexus struck her. Police say that she was walking against a red light before she was hit. The student was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody, but has since been released. The investigation continues.

Montgomery County Fire officials are now investigating after a fire broke out in an apartment complex in East Norriton leaving nearly 100 people displaced. The fire started at around 1:30 pm on Sunday on the 2600 block of Dekalb Pike. Firefighters arrived on the scene and took them a little less than an hour to get it under control. Around a half a dozen of the apartments sustained smoke damage. The Red Cross had set up a shelter for those residents who were displaced at Norristown High School. Fire crews are continuing their investigation into what caused the blaze.

Philadelphia Police have now placed a man into custody after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia. The incident took place on the 1200 block of South 19th Street. Police received reports of a person screaming from inside the house. When police arrived on the scene they found a 26-year-old woman who had been sexually assaulted. Police say that they later found the 25-year-old suspect who was responsible for the assault. The suspect's charges are pending.
