A teen girl was severely injured after being struck by a freight train in the Kingsessing section of Southwest Philadelphia this afternoon. It happened around 2:20 p.m. near 58th Street and Grays Avenue. The girl was walking along the tracks when she lost her footing and was struck by a CSX train. She grabbed the train and her feet became caught underneath. Her lower right leg had to be amputated and her left leg was severely crushed. The girl was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in extremely critical condition.

A preliminary hearing in the case against Amtrak train engineer Brandon Bostian has been postponed until September 12th. 34-year-old Bostian was at the helm of Amtrak 188 when it derailed on May 12th, 2015 around a curve in Kensington killing 8 and injuring over 200. After their investigation, the Philadelphia District Attorney's office declined to press charges. A Philadelphia Municipal Court judge ordered charges filed after one victim's family file a criminal complaint. The case was forwarded to the Pennsylvania Attorney General who expanded on the judge's order and filed multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and causing a catastrophe hours before the statute of limitations would expire. The hearing was postponed because his top lawyers, Brian McMonagle and Fortunato Perri Jr., are currently involved defending Bill Cosby.

After a month-long drug investigation, Radnor Police and the Radnor Narcotic Task force took four people into custody at a Chipotle restaurant this afternoon. The "buy bust" happened around noon in the parking lot of the Chipotle on the 300 block of Lancaster Ave. in Wayne. Two suspects face felony charges and two face misdemeanor charges. They took a half pound of marijuana off of one suspect and discovered drug paraphernalia in a toilet tank inside the restaurant. The restaurant itself was closed by health inspectors because of filthy conditions in the kitchen.
