Water Main Break in Abington; Cosby Trial Starts Today; Man Climbs Fence at Dover Speedway

A large water main break caused flooding in Abington Township, Montgomery County on Monday afternoon. It happened around 3:15 p.m. along Edge Hill Road and Tyson Ave near Bradfield Road. Both Edge Hill and Tyson were closed. Water could be seen rushing down the hills between homes and then down the street. A 16-inch cement main is at heart of the problem. Police and Aqua water department crews are on the scene.

UPDATE: 6/5 11:45 pm - It took Aqua crews two hours to shut off the broken main this afternoon while water gushed through the Edge Hill neighborhood. Several families were evacuated from their homes. 85 residences are without service tonight. They are relying on a temporary pump for water. Once service is resumed Aqua will issue a boil advisory until further notice. The damaged main was built in 1911. It was already slated for replacement in late 2018.

Bill Cosby's trial finally got underway in a court room in Norristown, Montgomery County this morning. Cosby was arrested 2 ½ years ago on charges that he sexually assaulted former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in his Cheltenham home in 2004. There is no physical evidence in the case. Cosby is not expected to testify. The jury will hear testimony from the entertainer recorded during a civil deposition in 2005. It will ultimately be a matter of who they believe. The prosecution started their case by calling Kelly Johnson of Atlanta. She described an encounter with Cosby at the Bel-Air Hotel in 1996 where she says she was pressured to take a pill and was forced to perform a sexual act. Prosecutors want to establish a behavior pattern. Out of over 60 accusers that have come forward since Cosby was charged, Johnson is the only one the judge would permit to testify at trial besides Constand. The defense questioned her on details of the encounter that have changed over the years, including the year she said it happened, and why she waited until 2015 to come forward. Cosby was accompanied today by actress Keshia Knight Pulliam who played his daughter 'Rudy' on The Cosby Show.

A Delaware man has now been charged after climbing the fence surrounding the track during a NASCAR race this weekend. It happened on Sunday at the Drive for Autism race held at Dover International Speedway in Dover, DE. 43-year-old John Infanti climbed the high fence which curves over the track and sat on top. Security was able to him down. He's been charges with trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. See photo below.
