Police in the United Kingdom responded to a serious incident and reports of an explosion at Manchester Arena on Monday night around 10:35 p.m. local time. So far 19 people have been confirmed dead and 50 are injured. The Greater Manchester Police are treating this as a terrorist incident until further notice. American pop star Ariana Grande was performing in concert. The show had just ended and the house lights had just come back up when there was a loud bang. The crowd rushed to the exits. The cause of the explosion is not known at this time. It is suspected that a suicide bomber detonated a bomb in the foyer/entrance to the arena. Concert goers had just started to exit to their parents waiting outside. Ariana Grande is reported ok.

UPDATE: 5/23 8:40 am - The casualty toll has increased to at least 22 dead, including children, and 59 injured. Authorities say that a single man detonated an improvised explosive device and died at the scene. Police think they know the identity of the bomber but have not released a name. ISIS has claimed responsibility. They posted a message saying that a "soldier of the caliphate" was able to "plant explosive devices" at Manchester. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Salman Abedi.
