Philadelphia Police have charged a beer store owner for shooting a teenager who was vandalizing his store in the Summerdale section of Northeast Philadelphia earlier this week. 26-year-old Hanglong Ing of Mayfair has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Violation of the Uniform Firearm Act-No License, Possession of Instrument of a Crime, Violation of the Uniform Firearm Act-On Streets, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. It happened around 11:45 p.m. Monday at Kenny's Beer Place in the 800 block of East Sanger Avenue. Ing told the 16-year-old to leave the store because he was underage and an argument ensued. The teen returned with a friend and they began to vandalize the store. Ing pointed a gun at the pair and they left. The owner followed them outside and to the rear alley where he fired once into the air. He struck the teen in the hands. The gun was recovered by police.

A Philadelphia police officer has been arrested for allegedly punching his wife and then chasing her in his marked patrol car. 30-year-old Officer Antonio Mayhew is a 10-year-veteran of the force assigned to the 1st District. It happened around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday on the 5200 block of Market Street. Mayhew left his assigned post and confronted his wife, punching her in the head while she was sitting in the driver's seat of her car. She drove off and Mayhew following her in his police cruiser with lights and sirens. At 61st and Walnut streets, the woman got into an accident with another vehicle. That driver was hospitalized with critical injuries. Mayhew has been suspended for 30 days with the intent to dismiss.
