Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects wanted for the shooting of a 13-year-old boy inside a Chinese takeout in North Philadelphia on Friday night. It happened around 10:30 pm at the Gold Fish restaurant on the 2000 block of West Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section. The teen was sitting inside the restaurant with a few other friends when two other young men approached them and struck up a conversation. Suddenly one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the teen in the head. The two then fled the restaurant. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital and is in critical condition. The entire incident was caught on video. Police have released surveillance pictures of the suspects. Anyone with information on the identity and/or whereabouts of these two males is asked to please contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or call 911. See photo.

Fire erupted at a carpet business near several residences in West Philadelphia on Saturday morning. The three-alarm blaze started around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 62nd and Arch streets. Fire crews arrived to heavy flames and smoke. The carpets inside the building provided good fuel for the fire. It took around 3 hours to bring under control. The cold temperatures and high winds made it difficult to fight. Several row homes nearby suffered some damage but firefighters were able to save the houses. There were no reported injuries. The American Red Cross is assisting 20 displaced residents with food, clothing, and shelter. The cause of the fire in under investigation.

The completion of the LOVE Park renovation has been pushed back until September instead of this spring, after running into some unexpected underground infrastructure during excavation. The cost of the project may also run over budget. Parks and Recreation Department Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell says that while digging, crews discovered unaccounted for obstacles such as the existence of an extensive ventilation system and a city water main just below the surface. The final plans for the park, built in the 1960's, had been lost, leaving them blind to what exactly was running underneath the park. Ott Lovell says that all the obstacles are out of the way now. The project was originally projected to cost $16.5 million, but may now run closer to $20 million. See photo below.
