Fight at Hatfield Ice Arena, CB West and Ridley; Dump Truck/School Bus Crash; Roosevelt Inn Lawsuit

Police were called to the Hatfield Ice Arena in Montgomery County on Thursday night after a fight broke out on the ice and extended into the stands. It happened around 10:20 p.m. at 350 County Line Road in Hatfield Township. It was during the Flyers Cup Class 2A quarterfinal hockey game between Central Bucks West High School and Ridley Ice Hockey. CB West was leading at the time 7-1. The incident was caught on video. It shows the players on the ice engaged in a brawl and members of the crowd cheering them on. It also pans to show some adults members engaged in an altercation in the stands. A CB West player had to be transported to Abington Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Hatfield police are now investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information or video of the event to contact them. See video below.

Several people were injured when a dump truck and a school bus collided in Wilmington, DE this morning. It happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the interection of D Street and South Heald Street. The dump truck collided with the school bus, sending it up onto the curb. The bus was carrying students to the Delaware School for the Deaf. Three children and two adults were injured. The bus driver and te dump truck passenger were taken to Wilmington Hospital. One child was taken to A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, another was taken to Wilmington Hospital and a third was evaluated at the scene and released to that child's parent. School district specialist arrived to help release child to their parents. The crash is under investigation.

A first-of-its-kind civil lawsuit has been filed against a Northeast Philadelphia motel for being complicit in human trafficking occurring inside its doors. The suit was filed on behalf of a then 14-year-old girl who was forced to have sex with over 1,000 men over a two year span at the motel. The Roosevelt Inn on the Boulevard in Rhawnhurt including its manager, Yagna Patel, and parent company, UFVS Management Company, have been named in suit made possible by the 2014 Pennsylvania Human Trafficking Law. "This lawsuit is the first among many to come that will hold hotel and motel owners, among others, accountable when they knowingly allow victimization of the most vulnerable in our society," says the plaintiff's attorney, Tom Kline. The girl, now 17, is going through therapy.
