Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a murder occurred in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. The murder happened on the 300 block of W. Westmoreland Street at around 6:50 pm on Wednesday. Police arrived on the scene to find a man shot four times in the back of the head. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. Police are still searching for the suspect or suspects responsible, and are searching for a possible motive.

Two female Philadelphia Police officers have now been appointed in two top spots in the department. Officer Christine Coulter has been appointed as a three-star Deputy Commissioner, and Officer Robin Wimberly as a two-star Deputy Commissioner. Both of the officers have well over 28 years each on the force, and both officers actually graduated in the same class at the police academy. Women Police officers make up around 20% on Philadelphia's Police force, but the pair of women say that being a women in a predominantly male department has not been an issue for them. Both women have stated that they encourage any woman who is thinking about joining the police department to apply.

PA Officials have now justified the shooting of a man in Berks County two weeks ago by police. Authorities say that the officers encountered a visibly intoxicated man who was holding a gun pointed towards them. 62-year-old Michael Stoudt walked outside and pointed a sawed-off shotgun at a man who was smoking a cigarette in the alley way next to his house. After he refused to put the gun down, police arrived to try and relieve the situation. Police continued to ask the man to put the gun down, but the man continued to point it towards police, resulting in one of the police officers shooting and killing Stoudt. Upon further investigation the gun was fully operational, but was not loaded at the time, Stoudt also had a .306 blood-alcohol content at the time.
