Philadelphia Police are searching for a missing 5-year-old boy from Kensington and his 60-year-old step-grandfather. Naair Thomas was reported missing on Monday night after he failed to come home with his grandfather Stewart Gertman. Thomas lives with Gertman. They were last seen at their residence around 10 a.m. Monday on the 3600 block of Frankford Avenue. Authorities have tried to contact Gertman by phone, but they have been unsuccessful. Thomas is described as 3'0", 47 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes, medium brown complexion, and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a red Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirt, blue sneakers, and a black jacket with fur. Anyone with information on Naasir's and Gertman's whereabouts, please contact East Detective Division at 215-686-3243/3244 or call 911.

New Castle County Police believe that a kidnap and robbery attempt last night in Newark is connected to two others last month. This third incident happened just after 6:30 pm Monday at the Reserve At Deacon's Walk apartments on Sheldon Drive (formerly The Bluffs apartments). A man in dark clothing approached the woman as she was walking to her apartment. He had a gun, demanded money, and forced her to her apartment. The suspect ran off when another person opened the door. He is described as 5' 8" with medium. Police believe he is the same suspect that kidnapped and robbed two other women in separate incidents in February. In both cases he made them withdraw money from ATMs. In the second incident, he forced his way inside and sexually assaulted the victim as well. Those took place at the Top of the Hill Apartments in North Wilmington and Arundel Apartments in Pike Creek. There is a reward of $20,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is asked to call the Delaware CrimeStoppers tip line at 800-TIP-3333.

An unlicensed cab driver was shot during an attempted robbery last night in West Philadelphia. It happened around midnight Tuesday near 52nd and Market Streets. Two men approached the 52-year-old man, who was driving a Cadillac, and asked if he was "hacking" or operating an illegal cab. One passenger got in the front and the other got in the back. When the driver asked for money, the passengers announced a robbery. The man in the front pistol whipped the driver. The man in the back opened fire through the seat. The driver was hit twice in the back. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in serious by stable condition. The suspects fled on foot. Police are looking at surveillance footage in the area to identify the gunmen.
