A Catholic School teacher in Norristown has been accused of sexual abuse charges involving a 3-year-old girl. 32-year-old Michael Barbee, a teacher at the early learning program at Saint Francis Of Assisi Parish in Norristown has been placed in police custody. Police officers say that Barbee admitted to touching the three year old child during nap time at the school. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia stated it was first informed of the incident back on February 10th. The Archdiocese immediately but Barbee on leave. Barbee is being held on $750,000 bail.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has now been elected the chair of the board of trustees at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The Constitution Center announced the news on Wednesday that Biden would be replacing former chair Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, whose term ended this past January. Biden has stated that he is honored to have this spot that former presidents such as Bill Clinton, and George H.W. Bush have held, and that he is excited to be at the head of such a "national treasure." Biden will also be splitting his time between The University of Delaware, as well as The University of Pennsylvania during his post White House career.

The Philadelphia School District has released plans to overhaul eleven low-performing schools. The schools will not be closing or be converted into charter schools like previous years. Some of the schools will have a self-designed improvement plan approved, and some will require staff changes. Philadelphia School District Superintendent William Hite stated that each school is in line to receive up to $1 million in extra academic and instructional improvements. The eleven schools that are in need of change scored a 15 or less on the district's 0-100 School Progress Report. The schools needing improvement include, Bartram High School, Harding Middle School, Hartranft Elementary, McDaniel Elementary, Blankensburg Elementary, Heston Elementary, John Marshall Elementary, Franklin High School, Fels High School, Kensington Health Sciences High School, and Overbrook High School.
