As the NBA All-Star weekend is just a little over a week away, many Sixers fans were hoping that the end of the All-Star weekend would mean a start for Sixers rookie Ben Simmons. According to head coach Brett Brown, that scenario is looking extremely unlikely, saying that Simmons will not be participating in the 5-on-5 drills during All-Star Weekend. Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo stated in a recent interview, "Ben wants to play basketball in the worst way, but he will only be able to get out there and play basketball when he's healthy and ready to perform at that level, and as of right now that is not the case and that is why we do not have a timeline. And I cannot best guess what that timeline is, because the doctors cannot best guess that." Simmons suffered a broken right foot during the final day of training camp in September, and had surgery on the foot in early October.

Temple University has now hired Dave Gerson as the new S.W.A.G. Coordinator for Temple Football. The official title for Gerson will be Multimedia Coordinator/Specialist with Advanced Graphics which is wear the team got the name (S.W.A.G.). Gerson was previously a graduate assistant for the team, and will now be in charge of developing and showcasing a wide variety of graphic design for social media, presentations, brochures and wall displays at Temple. This will be Gerson's seventh season with the Owls.

Former Phillie Pete Rose is now eligible to be placed into the Phillies' Wall of Fame. Major League Baseball announced on Tuesday that they have granted permission to allow Pete Rose into the team's Wall of Fame. Pete Rose was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame last season. Rose received a life-time ban after he was caught betting on baseball in 1989. He denied the betting incident till 2004.
